EBSE signs a contract with MODEC for the manufacture a separator

EBSE signed a contract with the Japanese company Modec for the manufacture of a separator to be installed on the FPSO "Cidade de Mangaratiba", before being chartered to Petrobras.

Besides being the first contract between MODEC and a Brazilian company for this type of equipment, this is the first time EBSE will develop the complete separation train.

EBSE is working jointly with the Dutch company Frames, with which it is forming a new joint-venture. EBSE intends to deliver the equipment by February 2013.

Five of the six pieces of equipment part of the separation train will be assembled at EBSE's premises in Santíssimo. One of them will be assembled at NUCLEP in Itaguaí, due to its large size.

The FPSO is being assembled by MODEC at Brasfels shipyard in Angra dos Reis (RJ). It will be used by Petrobras to produce oil and gas at the Pre-Salt in Santos Basin.
